Meredith Brandt

Chief Everything Officer // Bend, OR

As Director of Operations for Ladies AllRide and founder of Grit Clinics, Meredith is proud to be an Austin, Texan but even prouder to have found the mountains and all the recreation that accompanies them. She moved to Bend in 2004 with the idea that she might stay for an entire year.  Over a decade later she's still mountain biking, skiing and swimming daily in Central Oregon. The idea for Grit Clinics was born when she and her friends would go mountain biking and "session" technical sections of trail until they either succeeded or exhausted themselves trying. Meredith thought "Hey, wouldn't it be nice if we could teach women in Bend how to ride more confidently by breaking down the skills and teaching them in a really fun and supportive environment?" Five seasons of Grit Clinics later, Meredith is pumped to see a whole new group of excited, passionate and skilled female mountain bikers out "sessioning" on the trails.

Her most rewarding coaching moment is teaching the ladies how to pop their first wheelie. Meredith has over a decade of experience on the trails in Bend and surrounding areas. She's also explored trails in Canada, Washington, Utah, Idaho, California, Texas, Montana, South America and many other fun places. She is certified through PMBIA (Professional Mountain Bike Instruction).

Ali found her way to mountain biking from downhill ski racing after a series of knee surgeries put her off the snow and onto the dirt. Ali spent 3 years coaching and directing the youth mountain bike program for the Mount Bachelor Sports Education Foundation before going back to school to get her Masters in Teaching. She holds a PMBIA Level 1 coaching license. When she isn’t wrangling teenagers you can find her chasing the fast ladies in pro xc mountain bike and cyclocross races. Ali has a deep passion for working with people, and blends her teaching knowledge with her coaching to better understand an individual's unique needs and learning styles. Ali is stoked to help people realize their potential, have breakthroughs in their riding, and smile and dance along the way!

Erika was introduced to mountain biking in 1989 and it has been downhill for her ever since (and a bunch of uphill too). Known for her “Big Balls” - (Click here for more about that, and for a good shock and laugh) - Erika has fervently embraced the wide spectrum of mountain biking culture from freeriding at Whistler, finishing the 100-mile Cream Puff (twice), to clearing Bend area trails with her chainsaw. In the summers, Erika guides Cogwild guests through the wonderful Central Oregon trails, while during the school year, she guides high school students through the wonders of Physics and Chemistry. As a PMBI certified instructor, she applies the methods from her teaching profession to her mountain bike instruction to optimize each learner’s experience. In addition to mountain biking, Erika enjoys story telling, philosophy, popsicles, skiing, movies, and traveling to New Zealand with her husband Kiwi Paul.

Tina "Earthquaker" "TunaB" Brubaker started racing cyclocross and mountain bikes in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Tina is a "Jackie of All Trades" on a bike, with race experience that ranges from road and track, to cyclocross, cross country, and enduro. Her versatility on two wheels has made her a force to be reckoned with in the Pacific Northwest, where she's been crowned OBRA's "Best All Round" rider an impressive 4 times.

Earthquaker currently lives in Bend, Oregon and rides and races for the Speedvagen Family Racing team. As a PMBI certified mountain bike coach for Liv/Ladies All Ride, SRAM Gold Rusch Tour, Grit Clinics, and the Bend Endurance Academy, she mixes a lifetime of racing experience with an incredible knack for helping beginner riders. She and her husband were drawn to Bend as an outdoor mecca in 2012, and Jane started doing local races. She won the Oregon 24-hour cross country MTB race in 2014, and hopes to try her hand at Enduro in the coming season. Sara loves bikes and she loves sharing her passion for riding and wrenching with everyone! She has been a mechanic for 15 years including a stint as the mechanic for the US Paracycling team through the Paralympic Games in London in 2012. She has been riding bikes for as long as she can remember. Her preference is to keep it dirty, so head to the mountains or the dirt jumps to find her on two wheels! She dabbled in racing, everything from downhill and 4x to cyclocross and road races. Her new passion is teaching! Through awesome programs, like the Grit Clinics, The Liv Ladies AllRide Tour, and the SRAM Gold Rusch Tour, she gets to teach people how to ride their bikes with rad skills!  For her day job she is an engineering technician for the hydraulic brake team at SRAM.

Kelsey Kelley Carson

Bend Oregon
kelseykelleycarson.png

Kelsey is a native Bendite and the town's biggest fan. She picked up mountain biking after her college and travel adventures when she moved back to Bend in 2006. It was love at first ride. Since then she's had the opportunity to ride all over the northwest. Her ideal 'bike' day would be to gather all her friends in a van with a shuttle driver and do laps of single track goodness. Laughs and banter required - followed by beers of course. Cyclocross and Super D's (races under an hour) are her favorite forms of bike competition. Kelsey's new love is her son who was born on New Years Eve. Through cycling she has met amazing people (including her husband) and gained confidence and skills that have transferred to all aspects of her life.  She loves using this knowledge to inspire other women.

Jessie Kay

BOZEMAN, MT
JESSIE KAY.jpg

Jessie brings over a decade of experience in instructing youth, teens, and adults in outdoor endurance sports. A PMBIA certified instructor, Jessie works with multiple nonprofits in Southwest Montana to build community around bikes. In the winters she works as a nordic ski coach. She is primarily interested in how sports can teach lessons about mastery, mental flexibility, resilience, and self-compassion.

As a rider, Jessie is all about finesse, flow, and fun. After attempting (and failing) to complete the Colorado Trail in 2019, Jessie’s itch to dig deep on multi-day adventures continues to grow. Apart from riding her bike, Jessie keeps her fire fueled by trying to lift heavy weights, dancing to progressive house music, and jumping into any nearby body of water.

Susan Clifford

Stowe, VT
susanclifford.jpg

Sue has been riding and racing mountain bikes for over 20 years.  Introduced to the sport on a borrowed bike, she quickly found her way to a summer job in a local bike shop which happened to come with a bike of her very own!  It wasn't long before she was bit by the racing bug and really began to explore the sport.  Having successfully raced in XC, DH, and more recently Enduro, mountain biking has been a huge part of her adult life.  An unrelated injury proved to be an ah-ha moment when it forced her to re-learn to ride a bike in 2010 on flat pedals.  Totally humbled she admits Instruction and skills drills improved her riding far beyond 15 years of simply getting after it.  With a newfound approach to her riding and racing she became IMBA(L2) and PMBI(L2) certified and has since helped beginners, mtb veterans, and racers throughout Northeast discover ah-ha moments of their own.  Hundreds of miles of legendary singletrack and skiing opportunities lured her to the northern Green Mountains of Vermont where she resides with her husband and three chocolate labs.

Hillary Marques

Frederick, MD
hillarymarques.jpeg

Hillary began riding and racing XC, and working as a bicycle messenger in DC in 1996. It was all downhill from there!  She was the NORBA national expert DH and DS champion in 2005, and went on to win numerous other titles in the professional category. She loves all types of riding, including road, cyclocross, dirt jumps and motorcycling. She has been coaching since 2006, and got her IMBA ICP level 2 certification in 2013. She currently works as a coach for events with Rays MTB park, Wheel Mill, Liv Ladies Allride, Snowshoe Womens weekend, M.O.R.E, and Take Aim Cycling. In the Metro DC area she holds the MadSkillz clinics. She manages and rides for the team BikeDR/Visit Frederick. Aside from cycling, Hillary is a professional contractor.  A founding partner of Backyard Ponds llc in 1996, she has also completely gutted and renovated a home in Historic Frederick, MD.  Many of her best friends throughout life have had fur, or feathers, or slime. Her goal is to share the personal growth and camaraderie gained through the cycling experience with others, using a methodical approach of confidence building, patience, personalized feedback, and skills progression.  ***Follow her on Facebook or Instagram: @downhillary

She is a LIV Ambassador and races enduro and downhill for Coqui Cyclery in Richmond, VA. She mostly loves the camaraderie and awesomeness found through building confidence through skills with women on the trail....not to mention the undeniable freedom found on her bike.

Karen Brooks

Pittsburgh, PA
karenbrooks.jpg

Karen is doing her best to check off every square on the “Bike-Related Job” bingo card — wrenching and managing in bike shops, editing various magazines, advocating with Bike Pittsburgh, writing, consulting, hopefully getting into framebuilding, you name it — but by far the most rewarding part of her varied career is teaching. She is certified through BICP and PMBIA to teach mountain bike skills, and through the League of American Bicyclists to teach safe riding on the street. She works with the Wheel Mill indoor bike park in Pittsburgh to help women have a blast on pumps and jumps. Karen rides a bike for transportation most days (check #cargobikeolympics), but also enjoys the rocky-rooty-muddy trails of the Eastern woods, and goes on bikepacking adventures when she can. Like so many women, she first got into mountain bikes through a boyfriend, then ditched the boyfriend and kept the bike. She would love to help you skip that first step and find true love — mountain biking! — the easier way.

Elizabeth Walker

Brevard, NC
elizabethwalker.jpeg

A group of close friends took Liz mountain biking for her 21st birthday in 2007; she was a terrified mess, but felt safe in the company of friends and came away from the day beaming with excitement. On subsequent adventures, she walked most uphills (for a long time!), wore a full-face helmet and blue jeans on cross-country rides, and was completely unaware of how much she really didn’t know about skills and technique, but fell in love with the sport and its challenges, rewards, and community. In 2009, she got the opportunity to teach mountain biking skills to kids at an adventure summer camp, where she had an amazing mentor help her with personal skill development, mechanical knowledge, and effective teaching and risk management techniques. She has since accumulated over 1300 hours of professional instruction and guiding, mostly on the trails in the Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreational Forest in Brevard, NC. She has attended skills clinics for further improvement, and picked up a PMBI Level 1 certification in May 2015. Also in 2015, Liz began working for Liv Cycling USA as the East Coast Liv Event Contractor (“demo girl”), and has been able to explore all kinds of riding throughout the United States and abroad. Coaching allows her to help women, just like her, progress from the “terrified rider” to the “confident rider,” overcoming obstacles in the trail and in our daily lives. ***Follow Liz on Facebook or Instagram: @liz.beyond

Heidi Slominski

Bend, OR
heidislominski.jpeg

Heidi has been coaching with Ladies AllRide since 2014 and has been an IMBA Level II Certified Skills Instructor since 2013 (one of the first few to be certified in the US). She is also a MTB guide for Cog Wild Mountain Bike Tours and Shuttles. Heidi's passion for all-things-cycling began after her first mountain bike ride 10 years ago.  Shortly after that first ride she started doing MTB races of all distances, began road cycling and enjoying 100 mile century ride events, gave triathlons a whirl and survived her first full Ironman Tri and a 24hr-solo MTB race with a top 10 finish, and has raced Bend's High Cascades 100 mile MTB race.  Through coaching, Heidi is passionate about giving back to the sport she loves by helping women of all levels hone their MTB skills and gain confidence needed to ride safely, have fun and mountain biking for years to come. She says she learned most of her MTB skills through trial and error (landing in a cactus is not fun!), Heidi understands the importance of breaking down technical skills and feeling “one” with your bike. She believes in the Ladies AllRide philosophy that if you control your fears, they won't override your confidence and quick decision-making abilities. When she isn’t riding a bike or helping others get rad on their bikes, Heidi loves winter sports, making up-cycled bicycle jewelry, hiking and soaking up all that life has to offer through traveling and creating amazing adventures with friends and family.

Della Mosier

Bend, OR
dellamosier.jpeg

Della is a native Oregonian who developed an obsession for mountain biking upon arrival in Bend in 2010. Using a purple hard-tail Trek, she drilled the single track in Bend as part of her summer work commute. Since then, she has taken her full suspension ride all over Central Oregon, and as far as Moab, Grand Targhee, and Whistler. In 2015, she and four friends took first place (24 HR 5 person Open Women category) in the Oregon 24-hr cross country mountain bike race. She has been a Ladies Allride coach for the past two years and a Dirt Divas ride leader for three summers. Her favorite moments are traveling to discover beautiful places on bikes with good friends, going as far as the remote areas of the Czech Republic, or as close as the 8-mile system near Mt. Hood.  She specializes in coaching beginner/intermediate riders with an emphasis on making the sport accessible and enjoyable for all.

Liz Arollo

Bend, OR

Liz currently lives in Bend, Oregon. Her hometown is in the hot Sonoran Desert of Glendale, AZ. One of her favorite places to ride is Sedona, AZ where her mountain biking journey began. She started mountain biking in 2014 and that same year went to Moab as a novice mountain biker and broke her arm. After this misfortune, she completely lost confidence in herself and getting back on the bike was scary. That next summer (2015), she signed up for a Ladies AllRide Camp. There she learned that there are skills to mountain biking, and said she gained the confidence to continue to mountain bike with new techniques. Who knew, there is a method to the madness of mountain biking!? The coaches were very supportive and I felt empowered, which led to her taking more clinics. She soon started volunteering with Ladies AllRide because of the atmosphere that inspired and empowered participants. This motivated her to start on the path of becoming an assistant coach, co-coach and now a head coach. She ran track and field competitively starting at the age of 9 and competed at the collegiate level. After 6 knee surgeries, she had to give up running and ultimately mountain biking has become a major part of her life. She says: “Coaching for Ladies AllRide has been rewarding on so many levels. It has, and continues to provide me with a platform to continue to grow as mountain biker, a mountain bike coach, and an advocate for the cycling community through my role as an ambassador for Liv cycling.

Lindsey Watson

Colorado Springs, CO
lindseywatson.jpg

Lindsey started mountain biking in 2010 when she realized that her soccer career was coming to an end and she needed an equally intense athletic endeavor. Little did she know at the time that mountain biking would soon become her lifelong passion and profession. When Lindsey isn’t out riding bikes or coaching, she spends her days coordinating data at SRAM/RockShox and hanging out with her super rad Border Collie, Avery. Over the past 7 years, she’s dabbed in Enduro and XC racing for the “extra” challenge but has never taken it too seriously. As an IMBA certified instructor, she brings her passion of coaching to LIV Ladies AllRide and, if you’re lucky, you may even find her teaching some SRAM product education too. For Lindsey, nothing fills her soul more than teaching the art of mountain biking and seeing the empowerment, community, and inspiration that follows.

Kim has always loved spending her time in the outdoors.  Over the years she has developed a passion for teaching (Scuba Diving, Skiing, Snowboarding, and Soccer) and inspiring others to spend more time outdoors learning new things! Kim took up mountain biking in 2007 as a way to recover from knee surgery and take a break from training for Ironman. Some of her first rides were with her husband on his hard tail with toe clips on technical trails in Northern California. Despite all of those challenges her mountain bike journey did not end. She found a local women’s mountain program through Team LUNA Chix where she connected with like-minded women and started improving her technical skills. Fast forward a decade later, Kim took over the local women’s program, and when Team LUNA Chix retired the program, she founded “Tahoe Mountain Bike Girls.” Through Tahoe Mountain Bike Girls, Kim and her team bring women together to learn a new sport, stay active, and encourage other women in their communities to participate in the two-wheel fun, while fundraising for local nonprofits. Kim is an IMBA ICP Level 2 Instructor. On top of running TMBG she spends her summers at TD Bike Works teaching women and kids the fundamentals of mountain biking and helps them build their confidence out on the trails. Stacey McKinney

Bend, OR
staceymckiney.jpg

Born and raised in the Midwest, Stacey always knew her true calling was in the mountains of the west.  A Bend local since 2002, her initial passions were climbing and mountaineering, but a spontaneous trip to Moab a week after she bought her first mountain bike sealed the deal for her love of biking…and as you can imagine, there were some epic crashes!   Now, it’s hard to imagine life without the freedom to roam endless trails on two wheels while taking in all of the sights, smells, adventure, laughter, and friendships.  Although not specifically a racer ... she loves to get her shred on in any way she can - with a love for techy, rocky, and fast flow trails.  Stacey is a certified PMBIA coach and is driven to encourage and support women to build confidence, skills, and a passion for biking.  Her favorite vacation includes a campervan, friends, a full bike rack, a sense of adventure, a campfire, and a cooler of IPA’s. When not on her bike she is probably at work saving the world one solar panel at a time…or in the wilderness exploring with her dog.

Her passion for mountain biking took off in 2013 while living in Tucson, Arizona after two years of knee surgeries forced her to give up playing competitive soccer and tackle football. She loves the physical nature of mountain biking and how the sport is a combination of endurance, strength, technique, and flat-out grit. Lindsay believes that mountain biking is beneficial for both physical and mental health and that it's a direct avenue to overcome fears and build both community and confidence. Shanna is certified as a Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association Level 2 and BICP level 2 skill instructor. Her riding career began in 2006 as a way to recover from a whitewater kayaking injury. A lover of all bikes, Shanna can usually be found riding her singlespeed hardtail in Pisgah National forest, her dirt jumper or her downhill bike in the surrounding area…or off on some adventure meeting new people and exploring new trails around the world. Shanna prefers fun rides over the seriousness of racing (though she does sometimes) and really considers herself more of a rodeo clown on a bike, reminding folks that bikes are fun!!! The technical trails of Pisgah have been perfect for sculpting Shanna into a technical downhill rider shredding the forests of WNC with her crew of likeminded “Lady Birds”. Having a crew of women to ride with has been quite empowering, full of support and skill progression. In the fall of 2015 Shanna decided she wanted to take the love and passion to the next level by sharing it with others through instruction. Kim is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to play bikes and recreate in the mountains. She believes in the power of community and is passionate about getting more humans outside, especially youth and women on bikes. She first owned a mountain bike in college and recalls going out with her brother's friends to ride, completely oblivious as to what mountain biking was and unaware of the power it would later have over her. Fast forward 25 years, she strives to live and breathe biking. She is the co-founder/owner of Singletrack Adventures, a mountain bike company focused on providing private and group lessons, guiding, and kids days based at the Whitefish Bike Retreat. Kim is also on the sales team at Glacier Cyclery & Nordic. She has worn many hats working with Roam Events at Roam Fest Fruita and Roam Fest Sedona, Roam Rallies, and is a Roam team member for Rebecca’s Private Idaho. Kim is a board member for the Flathead Area Mountain Bikers (FAMB) and World Ride. She serves as a volunteer instructor for FAMB’s women’s and youth clinics, and has been a mountain bike instructor with Whitefish Legacy Partners’ Girls on the Trail program and works with See Jane Adventures and Legacy Bike Park coaching women's clinics, and is stoked to be a part of the Ladies AllRide team. Kim has her Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association (PMBIA) Level 1 certification and Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) Level 2, she is a Wilderness First Responder, and has avalanche training.
