Wildflowers and wild downhill trails

Participate in the ultimate women's downhill mountain biking experience at Grand Targhee, Wyoming with Ladies AllRide. Join us for exhilarating adventures, expert coaching, and unforgettable camaraderie.

Grand Targhee Resort has spectacular single-track trails on and near the resort with miles of lift-access downhill trails winding through wildflower meadows with epic views in every direction. Established as the first downhill mountain bike destination in the Tetons, the Grand Targhee Bike Park offers downhill trails for newer to more advanced mountain bike riders; gentle, banked cruisers and exciting, rock-strewn downhill runs, wood wall-rides, lots of corners and teachable features all the way down. During the summer months when the West is sweltering, Grand Targhee and the Tetons might just be the most extraordinary, cool-temperature riding in the lower 48!

This camp is hosted at Grand Targhee Resort where we will work on perfecting downhill skills using large grassy areas and mountain bike specific skills zones. Everyone will ride the chairlifts to mid-mountain and potentially to the top. Some groups might work on a few cross-country style skills on the xc trails nearby depending on the group’s goals.

Helmet Requirements

This camp will have lift-access riding for riders and full-face helmets are required when riding the lifts. If you bring a full-face with you, also bring your open-face helmet for morning skills and drills. We will have a limited number of full-face helmets to demo but please plan to bring your own, borrow one from a friend or rent one from a bike shop or the resort. Downhill helmets are best paired with goggles so bring those too if possible.

To rent a full face helmet, please make sure to contact Habitat right away as they have a limited inventory. Call them at 208.354.7669.

More Information

  • This is an “all-mountain” focused camp with chairlift access to the middle and top of the mountain. This camp is taught in the bike park using the chairlifts to get to the trails. Some climbing techniques might be covered in certain groups and there are nearby cross-country trails to practice climbing technical features, but all groups will eventually use the chairlift to work on downhill bike handling skills.

The mid-mountain trails are smooth with lots of corners, some jumps, fun wall-rides and nothing too steep. The top of the mountain has some steeper sections, loose rocks and long, winding downhill trails that will have you grinning from ear to ear. Groups work their way down the mountain stopping when necessary to work through technical sections. More advanced groups might be introduced to larger drops (2ft+) in a drop zone and small jumps depending on skill level and goals. Also be mindful that the elevation at Grand Targhee Resort is 7,408ft at the base and 9,862 at the top.

*Note: If you are a very advanced rider who has specific goals like “gap-jumps, doubles, whips, over 5ft drops, etc,” we suggest taking a private lesson with one of our coaches at a location that caters to jumping and dropping. If you are CLEARING tabletops (landing with both wheels on the landing not the top of the table) comfortably and consistently, a private lesson will be more suited to your needs and desires.

    Email info@gritclinics.com for more information.

Also please note electronic pedal-assist bikes are NOT allowed on trails at Targhee.
