Lyndonville/Burke Mountain, VT
Signature Camp
August 24-25
$525
Fast, fun, and scenic single track.
This camp is hosted at The Wildflower Inn the first day and Burke Mountain Resort on the second day of camp. We will work on perfecting skills using large open areas, mountain bike specific skills zones, and lift-accessed trails.
The Kingdom Trails have over 100 miles of interconnected mountain bike trails, mostly single track, traveling through pine forests, maple tree groves, alongside rivers, up and down hills and mountains. The views are majestic and often include wildlife. But it's the dirt that makes this place extra dreamy. With great soil and drainage, the trails stay dry and tacky. Most of the riding is smooth, fast and flowy, but you can find plenty of technical trails too.
Burke Mountain is nestled near the quaint town of East Burke, neighbor to the well known Kingdom Trails. The trails in Vermont travel through pine forests, maple tree groves, alongside rivers, up and down hills and mountains. The views are majestic and often include wildlife. But it's the dirt that makes this place extra dreamy. With great soil and drainage, the trails stay dry and tacky. Most of the riding is smooth, fast and flowy, but you can find plenty of technical trails too. With thirteen downhill and seven cross-country trails, the bike park (consisting of expert jump and flow trails) has something for everyone.
*Camp notes
Day one we will have the opportunity to work on your skills at the Kingdom Trails. Day two is more of a “downhill” focused day with chairlift access up at Burke Mountain. The trails at Burke Mountain range from mild, low-angle flow trails with fun berms and rollable jumps to steep, rocky, rooty descents.
Day one, depending on group interests we will go through some various cross-country skills based drills on the Kingdom Trails. Day two we will ride the chairlift at Burke Mountain to access the predominantly downhill trails. Please keep in mind the mountain caters more to the downhill bike handling experience than to climbing so a minimum 4-inch (140mm) travel full-suspension bike is encouraged.
The lower trails are fairly smooth with lots of corners, berms, and rollers. The upper mountain has some steeper sections, loose rocks and long, winding downhill trails that will have you grinning from ear to ear. More advanced groups might be introduced to larger drops (2ft+) and jumping depending on skill level and goals.
*Note: If you are a very advanced rider who has specific goals like “gap-jumps, doubles, whips, over 5ft drops, etc,” we suggest taking a private lesson with one of our coaches at a location that caters to jumping and dropping. If you are CLEARING tabletops comfortably and consistently, a private lesson will be more suited to your needs and desires. Email info@gritclinics.com for more info.
Also please note electronic pedal-assist bikes are NOT allowed on trails in Vermont. :(
Helmet Requirements
This camp will have lift-access riding for riders and full-face helmets are highly recommended if you are interested in more advanced skills in the bike park like higher speed downhill riding. If you bring a full-face with you, also bring your open-face helmet for morning skills and drills. We will have a limited number of full-face helmets to demo but please plan to bring your own, borrow one from a friend or rent one from the resort if you would like to guarantee proper fit and use of a full-face helmet for the entire weekend. Downhill helmets are best paired with goggles so bring those too if possible.

"Today was my first post-clinic ride and I cannot believe the difference in my riding! First, I wasn't far behind my husband for once. Second, you've turned me into a real mountain biker! Third, I was jumping over rocks just for fun! Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new world!"
