Fun mountain with a little bit of everything.

Big Sky Resort has spectacular lift-accessed single-track trails winding through mountain meadows with epic views of Big Sky country. Big Sky Resort Bike Park offers downhill trails for intermediate to more advanced mountain bike riders; gentle, banked cruisers and exciting, rock-strewn downhill runs with teachable features all the way down. The laid back vibe of the area is one of the reasons why people keep coming back. Come join us for a shreddy weekend in the mountains filled with flow and fun!

This camp is hosted at Big Sky Resort where we will work on perfecting skills using large open areas and lift-accessed trails.

More Information

  • This is a “downhill” focused camp with chairlift access to the middle and top of the mountain.

The trails range from mild, low-angle flow trails with fun berms and rollable jumps to steep, loose rocky descents. We ride the chairlift to access the predominantly downhill trails, however, we still go through some climbing drills to help perfect your climbing technique. Please keep in mind the mountain caters more to the downhill bike handling experience than to climbing so a minimum 4-inch (140mm) travel full-suspension bike is encouraged. Most trails offer spectacular views of Big Sky country, which makes us so excited to host our camps in a destination that offer the complete mountain bike lifestyle experience!

The lower mountain trails are fairly smooth with lots of corners, berms, rollers and nothing too steep. The top of the mountain has some steeper sections, loose rocks, and long winding downhill trails that will have you grinning from ear to ear. The Summit Trail provides an almost 8-mile descent back to the base area. Groups work their way down the mountain stopping when necessary to work through technical sections. More advanced groups might be introduced to larger drops (2ft+) and small jumps depending on skill level and goals.

*Note: If you are a very advanced rider who has specific goals like “gap-jumps, doubles, whips, over 5ft drops, etc,” we suggest taking a private lesson with one of our coaches at a location that caters to jumping and dropping. If you are CLEARING tabletops (landing with both wheels on the landing, not on top of table) comfortably and consistently, a private lesson will be more suited to your needs and desires.

    Contact: Info@gritclinics.com for more information.

*Also please note electronic pedal-assist bikes are allowed on trails at Big Sky! They must have conventional tire sizes (so that they fit in our carriers) and need to be under 60 pounds.
